Your voice is more easily recognized if you speak in phrases rather than words.
For instance, 'Do you have a wine list?' is more easily recognized than just 'Wine'.
If your voice is not recognized, try some other variations.
'Can I have some water?', 'Some water, please?' or 'Can you bring me some water?'
'Can I get there on foot?', 'Is it walking distance?' or 'Can I walk to get there?'
